Lang Lang Fishing Trip 2025

Lang Lang
Members headed for Western Port to fish in the Lang Lang area.

Some members stayed two nights, others the one.

The second night, when all attendees were present, saw the club having a BBQ dinner at Coronella Pier. Snags and salad cooked by the President and then off onto the pier for some fishing.

Fishing conditions were tough, with the wind blowing steadily from the West making casting difficult into the wind. Scott caught a 47cm Silver Trevalley. Retrieval being difficult as two lots of novice fisherman had both managed to case over his line. However the Trevalley was landed.

The next day saw the group fising the Lang Lang beach because it was high tide. Lang Lang at low tide is impossible to fish as the mud exposed extends in parts several hundred meters.

Despite some nibbles not a single member landed a fish in the morning.

Scott and Terry camped in the Lang Land caravan park. Terry in his Ute, Scott in a swag.

All round it was a fun trip, even if the fish were less than cooperative.

I think, in hindsight, members would have gotten more value staying at Corinella. The pier was certainly easier to fish, if somewhat busier. The caravan park, like Lang Lang, is beach side too. So access would have been within walking distance as well.
