Our Story
Founded in November 2023, the Greensborough RSL Angling Club is a proud part of the Greensborough RSL — a branch of the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL).
While the RSL honours and supports veterans and their families, both the club and our angling section welcome all community members who share a passion for fishing and community.
We’re a growing group of anglers from all walks of life who enjoy casting a line, sharing stories, and making the most of Victoria’s diverse fishing locations.
Whether you’re an experienced fisher or a first-timer, the Greensborough RSL Angling Club offers a welcoming and inclusive space to connect with others and enjoy the outdoors.

Veterans and Community Members Welcome
Some of the Angling Club members are returned service members, others are community members. All enjoy the benefits of member discounts on meals, drinks and access to many other GBRSL membership benefits.
Our club embodies the RSL spirit of mateship and community service while pursuing our shared passion for angling.

We create a space where everyone is welcome. Veterans, community members, experienced anglers, and complete beginners all find their place in our club family.

We offer a variety of fishing activities for both novice and experienced anglers, from day trips to charters, and camping or motel-based trips.

We share knowledge freely and support new anglers. From basic techniques to advanced strategies, our members enjoy helping others improve.

We promote sustainable and responsible fishing practices to help preserve Victoria's fisheries for future generations.
Our Philosophy
At the Greensborough RSL Angling Club, we believe fishing should be enjoyable, relaxing, and about more than just catching fish. While we celebrate great catches and may offer occasional prizes, we deliberately avoid the competitive pressure that can sometimes take the fun out of fishing.

While some clubs focus on tournaments and competitions, we prefer a more relaxed approach that welcomes anglers of all skill levels without pressure.

We specialise in Victoria's diverse fishing opportunities, from river and lake trout streams to snapper and flathead in coastal waters.
